What is a Wetland?
Wetlands are areas where water either covers the soil or is present near the surface for all or part of the year. Wetlands water saturation largely determines how the soil develops and the types of plants and animals living in and on the soil. Bogs, fens, marshes, seeps, and swamps are examples of wetlands.
