A tiny, active songbird that often flicks its wings while searching foliage for food.

Three Identification Clues

Very small size, a thin bill, and a prominent pale eyering.

Olive-gray plumage with a white wingbar bordered below by a dark bar.

The male’s red crown is usually hidden; frequent wing flicking is often a better clue.
