A brown goose often seen feeding or resting with other geese during migration and winter.

Three Identification Clues

Adults have white feathering around the base of a pinkish to orange bill.

Dark blotches or bars mark the adult belly below a brown neck and breast.

Orange legs and a white undertail help identify the bird; juveniles lack the adult face patch and belly markings.
