A small sparrow of brushy grasslands, often noticed by its accelerating song.

Three Identification Clues

A pink bill and a neat white ring around the eye.

Adults have a rusty cap and a rusty line behind the eye on a grayish face.

Adult underparts are mostly plain; juveniles can have breast streaks.
