Habitat: Tall Ironweed prefers full sun to light shade with moist to mesic conditions and soil containing loam. Look for Tall Ironweed in open woodlands, woodland borders, thickets, areas along woodland paths, swamps, riverbottom prairies, seeps and springs, pastures, and abandoned fields.
