Habitat: Shrubby St. John's Wort prefers full to partial sun with moist to dry-mesic conditions, and somewhat barren rocky ground. Look for Shrubby St. John's Wort upland prairies, upland rocky woodlands and bluffs, rocky stream banks, edges of swamps, abandoned fields, pastures, and roadside embankments.
