Habitat: Mayapple prefers dappled sunlight to light shade with moist to slightly dry conditions and rich loamy soil with abundant organic matter. Look for Mayapple in mesic deciduous woodlands, open woodlands, small woodland openings, savannas, and edges of hillside seeps in wooded areas.
