Three Identification Clues

A bright yellow rump is a useful mark in every season.

Yellow patches at the sides of the breast accompany streaked upperparts and pale wingbars.

Myrtle-type birds have a white throat; Audubon’s-type birds have a yellow throat. Color intensity varies with age and season.
