Habitat: Common Blue Violet prefers partial sun or light shade with moist to mesic conditions and a rich silty loam or clay loam with above average amounts of organic matter. Look for Common Blue Violet in meadows, open woodlands, woodland borders, savannas, and wooded slopes along rivers or lakes.
